20 Stores With Awesome Student Discounts!

Who doesn’t love a good discount? It’s surprising how many college students don’t know about the store discounts that they could be receiving!  Some stores make it obvious that they offer discounts, but others keep it more on the down low.  Most of the time, all you need to do is show a student I.D or sign up with a student e-mail to start receiving your discount.

In addition to getting discounts with your I.D or e-mail, there’s a company called UNiDAYS that makes it even easier to get student discounts. All you have to do is sign up and get verified on their website. On their site you will find a huge list of stores that offer discounts, and some of the discounts are even larger (for limited times) if you go through the UNiDAYS website rather than just the store itself. So this site is definitely worth checking out!

To help you start taking advantage of this awesome student perk, I’ve compiled a list of 20 of my favorite stores and companies that offer great student discounts. Enjoy! Continue reading “20 Stores With Awesome Student Discounts!”

We were itching to take the bikes out this past weekend but it was predicted to rain both days. We had actually never ridden in the rain before, so we thought it would be a fun opportunity to play around and get a little dirty at Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve.  It was actually a great time to go because we were literally the only ones on the trails!  The weather was pretty nice at first, just a light drizzle and only mildly hot.  Eventually the rain started to come down pretty hard and we got rained out, but I was still able to get some pics and show you guys what the trails look like. Off the Beaten Path: A Day in Bodega Bay

bodega bay pics, california coast pics

During our most recent vacation to California, we decided to spend one night in the quiet, small town, of Bodega Bay.
Before our visit, I researched the history of the city and found out that it was actually a location used in the filming of the Alfred Hitchcock film The Birds back in the early 60s. The coastal atmosphere and history intrigued me, so we booked an Airbnb and decided to take a drive down highway 1 to see what the area had to offer! Okay, so maybe the title is a bit dramatic. But it got your attention, right?

Yesterday, as I was listening to a close friend question whether or not she is choosing the right career, it got me thinking about how common this question is for many people. This reminded me of when I was first faced with the age old questions of life; What am I doing here? Do I have a purpose? And if so, how do I find it?                                                   Continue reading “What Am I Doing With My Life? Five Essential Elements to Finding Your Purpose!”

More and more people are making the switch to vegetarianism these days, and if you are like me, you are constantly searching out quick and easy ways to get a protein rich meal. Protein has so many uses in our bodies, as it is an important building block for bones,  muscles, tissues, and healing abilities. It is really an essential component for many biological processes, so vegetarian or not, it is important for us to ensure that we are giving our bodies what it needs to function efficiently!

A few years ago I was in the mood for something sweet after my workout, so instead of my go-to protein smoothie, I decided to try and make some healthy pancakes. Luckily it was a success, and I make them all of the time now! Continue reading “Quick, Easy, Delicious (and Healthy!) Protein Pancakes”

Fast forward to present day and we have now ridden on most of the “top rated” mountain biking trails in Florida, which include Santos in Ocala, Alafia River State Park in Brandon, Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve in Lithia, and Croom in Brooksville.

This weekend we rode the trails in Santos again, so I decided to snap a few pics and provide some information for those who enjoy biking or want to see pictures before giving Santos a try.  Continue reading “A Day of Mountain Biking at Santos Trails in Ocala, Florida”

5 Essential Foods That You Probably Aren’t Eating Enough Of!

essential foods, foods to eat more, how to get more nutrients

Consistently eating healthy is sometimes a hard thing to accomplish, but it’s really about finding the right balance for your body.

I have always been mindful of what I put into my body, but a couple of years ago I became a little too obsessed I would say. I already avoided processed foods, but I decided to take it one step further and cut out all meat, dairy, gluten, and sugar from my diet. Now, I am not sure how many of you have done this (or maybe currently are) but you will realize that literally everything has at least one of those items in it! After months of limiting these foods, I came to realize that moderation is really the key to leading a healthy lifestyle while also being able to indulge from time to time. As my studies in molecular biology have taught me, there are so many things that can affect our cells, and the key is to always make sure that we provide our bodies with the proper nutrients that it needs to function at it’s best.

So on that note, I decided to share 5 foods that I believe we should all be eating frequently! Of course, if you have allergies or dietary issues with these foods you will have to look to other options.  Continue reading “5 Essential Foods That You Probably Aren’t Eating Enough Of!”
