How many candles do you own at any given time? If you’re reading this, chances are you may own quite a few. 🙂 I have to admit, candles are one of my favorite things. I’m guilty of owning multiple scents and rotating them depending on my mood. I just love how quickly and easily cozy scents can make your home more inviting; For me they’re also the perfect recipe for unwinding at the end of the day.
While I love the glass jar candles from Bath & Body Works the most, it’s always the same decision that I’m faced with when they reach their end; What do I do with the jar? Should I just throw it away? But it’s a perfectly good (and pricey) jar! So after going through this sad ending for quite some time now (and saving my jars) I finally decided that it was time to clean them out and reuse them. I searched around a bit on the internet and found different ways to clean out old candle jars, but I played around with the techniques, and what worked best for me is so simple.
Below I outline steps on how to remove the wax and get a perfectly clean and reusable jar!

Hey everyone, I’m super excited about today’s post because it includes a giveaway! 😉 (More info below!)
I’ve been searching for a unique wooden watch for a while now; the style is so different from traditional metal watches, it’s really a great way to mix up your outfits. As I was researching different brands I came across JORD and I was instantly in love! I really like the color combinations that they offer and their quality is just amazing. They have so many beautiful women’s watches (and men’s watches!), it was really tough to choose only one style and color, but after spending some time on their site and admiring all of the beautiful designs, I finally settled on the Cora in zebrawood and turquoise.
I recently received my new watch and I want to share a review and some pictures with you guys!

Please tell me I’m not the only one who struggles with finding a perfume that I really love? 🙂 It’s safe to say that I’ve smelled hundreds and actually “like” around 15-20. Maybe I’m just a little too picky when it comes to perfumes, but if I’m going to spend money on a fragrance I believe it should 1. Smell amazing and 2. LAST.
A few years ago I received Britney Spears’ Fantasy perfume as a gift and I was pretty blown away with how long it lasted. I mean, this stuff really lasts – like smell it in my hair the next day lasts! Since this “celebrity scent” lasted longer than my other high end scents, I wondered, would that be the case with other celebrity scents as well? From that point forward I made it my small mission to figure this question out, and the short answer that I’ve come with is: For me, usually.
So if you’re looking for a long lasting fragrance and you can get over the somewhat cheesy stigma of wearing a celebrity scent, the six below are all scents that I’ve personally tried and found to be long lasting with a great scent. Added bonus – celebrity scents are usually cheaper than high end designer scents!

The best part about terrariums is you can have fun with the design and make it as unique and creative as you want! Continue reading “Quick and Easy DIY Succulent Terrarium” →
Who doesn’t love a good discount? It’s surprising how many college students don’t know about the store discounts that they could be receiving! Some stores make it obvious that they offer discounts, but others keep it more on the down low. Most of the time, all you need to do is show a student I.D or sign up with a student e-mail to start receiving your discount.
In addition to getting discounts with your I.D or e-mail, there’s a company called UNiDAYS that makes it even easier to get student discounts. All you have to do is sign up and get verified on their website. On their site you will find a huge list of stores that offer discounts, and some of the discounts are even larger (for limited times) if you go through the UNiDAYS website rather than just the store itself. So this site is definitely worth checking out!
To help you start taking advantage of this awesome student perk, I’ve compiled a list of 20 of my favorite stores and companies that offer great student discounts. Enjoy! Continue reading “20 Stores With Awesome Student Discounts!” →
My husband and I met in 2010 and were engaged in 2013. Not to get too corny, but since being with him I can say that I now understand the term “you complete me”. I love our life together and would not want to spend my years with anyone else! That being said, neither of us wanted a large wedding when we got married. We wanted something more personal, so we decided that an elopement was more our style. I love Europe and Travis had never been, so we decided to take a few weeks and travel around to different cities before having a private ceremony and photo shoot in Rome, the last city that we would be visiting. We were itching to take the bikes out this past weekend but it was predicted to rain both days. We had actually never ridden in the rain before, so we thought it would be a fun opportunity to play around and get a little dirty at Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve. It was actually a great time to go because we were literally the only ones on the trails! The weather was pretty nice at first, just a light drizzle and only mildly hot. Eventually the rain started to come down pretty hard and we got rained out, but I was still able to get some pics and show you guys what the trails look like. More and more people are making the switch to vegetarianism these days, and if you are like me, you are constantly searching out quick and easy ways to get a protein rich meal. Protein has so many uses in our bodies, as it is an important building block for bones, muscles, tissues, and healing abilities. It is really an essential component for many biological processes, so vegetarian or not, it is important for us to ensure that we are giving our bodies what it needs to function efficiently!
A few years ago I was in the mood for something sweet after my workout, so instead of my go-to protein smoothie, I decided to try and make some healthy pancakes. Luckily it was a success, and I make them all of the time now! Continue reading “Quick, Easy, Delicious (and Healthy!) Protein Pancakes” →
A couple of years ago my husband and I were looking for a new outdoor activity and decided to give mountain biking a try. Fast forward to present day and we have now ridden on most of the “top rated” mountain biking trails in Florida, which include Santos in Ocala, Alafia River State Park in Brandon, Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve in Lithia, and Croom in Brooksville.
This weekend we rode the trails in Santos again, so I decided to snap a few pics and provide some information for those who enjoy biking or want to see pictures before giving Santos a try. Continue reading “A Day of Mountain Biking at Santos Trails in Ocala, Florida” →
Consistently eating healthy is sometimes a hard thing to accomplish, but it’s really about finding the right balance for your body.
I have always been mindful of what I put into my body, but a couple of years ago I became a little too obsessed I would say. I already avoided processed foods, but I decided to take it one step further and cut out all meat, dairy, gluten, and sugar from my diet. Now, I am not sure how many of you have done this (or maybe currently are) but you will realize that literally everything has at least one of those items in it! After months of limiting these foods, I came to realize that moderation is really the key to leading a healthy lifestyle while also being able to indulge from time to time. As my studies in molecular biology have taught me, there are so many things that can affect our cells, and the key is to always make sure that we provide our bodies with the proper nutrients that it needs to function at it’s best.
So on that note, I decided to share 5 foods that I believe we should all be eating frequently! Of course, if you have allergies or dietary issues with these foods you will have to look to other options. Continue reading “5 Essential Foods That You Probably Aren’t Eating Enough Of!” →
