Please tell me I’m not the only one who struggles with finding a perfume that I really love? 🙂 It’s safe to say that I’ve smelled hundreds and actually “like” around 15-20. Maybe I’m just a little too picky when it comes to perfumes, but if I’m going to spend money on a fragrance I believe it should 1. Smell amazing and 2. LAST.
A few years ago I received Britney Spears’ Fantasy perfume as a gift and I was pretty blown away with how long it lasted. I mean, this stuff really lasts – like smell it in my hair the next day lasts! Since this “celebrity scent” lasted longer than my other high end scents, I wondered, would that be the case with other celebrity scents as well? From that point forward I made it my small mission to figure this question out, and the short answer that I’ve come with is: For me, usually.
So if you’re looking for a long lasting fragrance and you can get over the somewhat cheesy stigma of wearing a celebrity scent, the six below are all scents that I’ve personally tried and found to be long lasting with a great scent. Added bonus – celebrity scents are usually cheaper than high end designer scents!

Fantasy by Britney Spears
As I mentioned before, Fantasy by Britney Spears is amazingly long lasting. It’s one of my all time favorites and is very fruity and sweet without being overpowering.
Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift
Second behind Fantasy for me would be Wonderstruck. This one also lasts a very long time and has a fruitiness to it, but it’s just a little less sweet than Fantasy.
Paris Hilton
Sticking with my love for fruity scents, Paris Hilton’s signature fragrance is one that I often wear to school or during the day as well. It’s also fruity, but with a different mixture that adds a little variation in comparison to the others on the list.
Can Can by Paris Hilton
Can Can has musk which gives it a bit more of a bite, but it also has floral notes that tone down the musk so it’s not overpowering. It’s hard to describe this one, but if you like the others on the list then chances are this one will smell nice to you as well. Also very long lasting like the others.
Someday by Justin Bieber
Surprisingly enough, Someday is a fun fruity scent that I also enjoy and keep in my fragrance rotations. Definitely lasts long for me as well, I’d say nearly as long as Fantasy.
Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker
The last on my list is Lovely, and it’s last only because it’s more of a fresh floral smell rather than fun and fruity, which tends to be my favorite. I wear this when I want something more “grown up”. Very clean and refreshing, a nice mix up from the other playful scents on the list.
A Few Tips When Buying Perfume
When you’re looking for a scent that lasts it’s important to know the different categories of fragrances and what the differences are between them. The key difference between parfum, eau de parfum, and eau de toilette is that they have different oil concentrations.
Strength and lasting power varies depending on the person, but these are the typical rules that I’ve found through online browsing –
Eau De Toilette lasts 4-6 hours
Eau De Parfum lasts 6-8 hours
Perfume (or Parfum) lasts 12+ hours
So the next time you’re trying to decide on a fragrance, give the celebrity scents a try and see how they work for you. You may be surprised at how well they last!
